Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 10:12 PM EDT on July 03, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northeast Georgia and western North Carolina...
including the following areas... in northeast Georgia...
Habersham and Rabun. In western North Carolina... Graham...
Haywood... Macon... Madison... northern Jackson and Swain.

* Through Saturday evening

* the threat for heavy rain producing thunderstorms will increase
across the watch area overnight and continue through Saturday.
Locally an additional 2 or 3 inches of rain may fall on top of
soils already saturated from recent rainfall.

* Rivers and streams across the southwest North Carolina and
northeast Georgia mountains will rise with the anticipated
rainfall through Saturday. Periods of torrential downpours with
any thunderstorms may cause rapid rises along streams and
creeks... and associated flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
