Issued: 11:34 AM EST Feb. 14, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from 6 PM EST this
evening through Monday evening...

* locations... the central and southern North Carolina mountains.

* Hazards... snow... mixing with and changing over to sleet and
freezing rain.

* Timing... snow will begin this evening and last into Monday
morning. The snow will mix with sleet through midday Monday
and eventually change over to freezing rain during the
afternoon. A change over to all rain is possible by late day.

* Accumulations... snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3
inches... except up to 4 inches in some areas north of
Asheville. One half inch or more of that may fall as sleet. A
glaze of ice from freezing rain is expected as well.

* Winds... south 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Impacts... accumulations of snow... sleet... and freezing rain
may result in hazardous travel conditions.

* Temperatures... mainly in the 20s tonight into Monday... but
rising through the 30s Monday afternoon.
