Nowcast | as of 4:30 PM CST on December 17, 2014

At 4:30 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars continued to detect widespread light precipitation occurring across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Most of the precipitation was falling as light rain...however a mix of rain and sleet was still occurring across portions of northwest Arkansas and near the Kansas border. All this activity was moving toward the northeast...around 40 miles per hour. Through 6:00 PM...widespread precipitation will continue for the area. Pockets of a rain and sleet mix will remain possible across the northern portions of the forecast area. Isolated thunderstorms will also be possible...mainly across southeast Oklahoma. Average hourly rainfall of less than one tenth of an inch will remain common...with isolated locally higher amounts near one quarter of an inch possible.
