Statement as of 2:56 AM MST on February 27, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
until 5 PM MST this afternoon. The Winter Weather Advisory is no
longer in effect.

* Snow accumulations... accumulations of 2 to 5 inches with locally
higher amounts on in the foothills.

* Timing... periods of heavy snow will continue through early
morning. Snow will gradually diminish during the mid and late
morning... before intensifying again north of Valencia County
during the afternoon.

* Winds... east at 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph below canyons
opening into the middle Rio Grande Valley until mid morning.
Otherwise... east and southeast winds should generally vary from
10 to 20 mph.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for snow in all
locations.

* Local impacts..snow packed and icy roads with poor visibilities
will make travel hazardous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow means
severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring.
Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel
dangerous. Strong winds are likely. Only travel in an emergency.
