* timing and areas affected... through 7 PM Wednesday for all of
northwest and north central Alabama.

* Temperature... afternoon temperatures between 94 and 98 degrees
with heat indices between 105 and 110 degrees. Lows tonight
will be in the 74 to 76 degree range.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or

stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water. Check up on relatives and
neighbors. Absolutely do not leave children or pets unattended in

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and

in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency... call 911.
