Statement as of 4:22 PM PDT on July 30, 2015

... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 445 PM PDT
for the mountains in northwestern Ventura County...

At 413 PM PDT... Doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm
capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60
mph. This storm was located in the mountains of northwest Ventura County...
with the strongest portion of the storm currently near Reyes Peak. Major
roadways impacted by this severe thunderstorm include Lockwood Valley Road
and Highway 33. This storm was nearly stationary.

In addition to large hail and strong wind gusts... this storm will continue
to produce frequent cloud to ground lightning as well as dangerous flash
flooding.

Locations impacted include...
Reyes Peak... Highway 33... and Lockwood Valley Road.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds... destructive hail...
deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection move to an
interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy
rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water
covers the Road.

Flash Flood Warning
Statement as of 4:01 PM PDT on July 30, 2015

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 545 PM PDT for
the mountains in northwestern Los Angeles and northeastern
Ventura counties...

At 335 PM PDT... Doppler radar continued to indicate a cluster of
strong thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall across northwest
Los Angeles County and northeast Ventura County. Flash flooding will
continue to impact the warning area through 545 PM... including
Interstate 5 and Highway 138. The heaviest rainfall between 240 and
340 PM has occurred along Interstate 5 near Pyramid Lake and Castaic
lake... where Doppler radar has estimated over 2 inches per hour.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud and rock
slides near steep terrain... potentially impacting portions of
Interstate 5 and Highway 138.

Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gorman...
Pyramid Lake... Castaic lake... Interstate 5... and Highway 138
near Quail Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The National Weather Service in Oxnard has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
north central Ventura County in southwestern California...

* until 645 PM PDT

* at 350 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Doppler radar-estimated
rainfall rates of up to one and a half inches per hour with this
storm. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly if not already
occurring.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... western
Lockwood Valley... Lockwood Valley Road... Reyes Peak... and Highway
33 from Lockwood Valley Road to near the Santa Barbara County line.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

northwestern Los Angeles and north central Ventura counties...

At 321 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms continue
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Doppler radar-estimated
rainfall indicates rain amounts up to one and a half inches with up
to one and a half inches per hour rain rates. The heaviest cell is
currently over far northeast Ventura County... about 10 miles east of
Lockwood Valley.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
