* Flash Flood Warning for...
Riverside County in Southern California...

* until 645 PM PDT

* at 427 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated redevelopment of
thunderstorms over the warned area... with additional heavy
rainfall imminent. Additional flash flooding will likely begin
shortly.

* Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
Idyllwild-Pine Cove... Hwy 243 between Banning and Idyllwild... Hwy
74 between Hemet and Mountain Center... Mountain Center... Valle
Vista and saboba Indian reservation.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... highways and underpasses. Additionally...
country roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks... streams and
other low lying areas are subject to flooding.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
central San Bernardino County in Southern California...

* until 730 PM PDT

* at 426 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms extending
from the Mojave preserve southward to Essex down to Highway 62.
Thunderstorms will continue to expand across this area and will
produce heavy rainfall and rapid flash flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kelso... Cima... Mitchell caverns... Hole In the Wall campground...
Essex... Black Canyon equestrian campground and mid hills
campground.

This includes Interstate 40 in California between mile markers 72
and 114... .and Highway 62 from east of Twentynine Palms to near
Vidal Junction.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flash flooding is expected in washes... low water crossings and on
roads. To escape rising water... move to higher ground. Never try to
cross a flooded Road or enter a flood channel. Turn around... dont
drown! Report flooding to the Las Vegas National Weather Service via

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 800 PM PDT for San
Bernardino and Riverside counties...

At 549 PM PDT... a very strong thunderstorm with heavy rain between
Redlands and Moreno Valley in Riverside County was moving west
toward Loma Linda... Grand Terrace and Highgrove.

This storm has a history of flooding. Road flooding was reported in
Beaumont... and also in Cherry Valley on Cherry Valley Blvd where two
vehicles were stuck in standing water.

Other locations that will experience flooding include... Moreno
Valley... Redlands... Forest Falls... Lake Arrowhead... and mount san
gorgonio. Flooding on I-215 is likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flooding is occurring. Most flood related deaths occur in
automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges...
dips... or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing
stream... even a small one... on foot. To escape rising water find
another Route over higher ground.

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 630 PM PDT/630 PM
MST/ for southwestern Mohave and southeastern San Bernardino
counties...

At 531 PM PDT /531 PM MST/... Doppler radar has indicated the
heaviest rainfall this afternoon has fallen south of The Needles and
Topock areas where one to two inches of rainfall has fallen. Pockets
of heavy rain also fell near the Golden Valley and along the Highway
95 corridor in eastern California. While most of the heaviest
rainfall has ended... flash flooding remains a threat where local
washes and drainages continue to observe elevated flows. In
addition... numerous Road closures remain in effect due to flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flash flooding is expected in washes... low water crossings and on
roads. To escape rising water... move to higher ground. Never try to
cross a flooded Road or enter a flood channel. Turn around... dont

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
central Riverside County in Southern California...
southeastern San Bernardino County in Southern California...

* until 845 PM PDT

* at 544 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Flooding is likely across portions of Desert
Center Rice Road north of Desert Center.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Desert Center.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of California and southwest California... including the
following areas... San Gorgonio Pass near Banning... apple and
Lucerne valleys... Coachella Valley... Riverside County
mountains... San Bernardino County mountains... San Bernardino and
Riverside County valleys- the inland Empire... San Diego County
deserts and San Diego County mountains.

* Until 8 PM PDT this evening

* plentiful monsoonal moisture and instability will create a
significant risk for heavy showers and thunderstorms and flash
flooding. Showers and storms will persist into the early
evening hours before gradually diminishing.

* Recent burn scars will be particularly susceptible to flash
flooding and debris flows. Be alert for issuance of flash
flood warnings from the National Weather Service.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
