Numerous showers with embedded thunderstorms will continue to affect portions of Miami Dade to Palm Beach counties through the next few hours. Over the next couple of hours the two main areas of concern will be: 1) the potential for street flooding across portions of southeast Broward and northeast Miami Dade and 2) strong thunderstorms developing across Metro portions of Palm Beach County with main concerns being locally heavy rainfall and strong gusty winds in excess of 40-50 mph.

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
east central Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida...

* until 600 PM EST

* at 302 PM EST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Radar estimates over 4 inches of rain have
fallen so far.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
West Palm Beach... Wellington... Palm Beach Gardens... Riviera
Beach... Juno Beach... Greenacres... Royal Palm Beach... Palm
Springs... North Palm Beach... Lake Park... Atlantis... Haverhill... gun
Club Estates... Juno ridge... Palm Beach International Airport... lake

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in

415 PM EST for northeastern Palm Beach County...

At 220 PM EST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. 4 to 6 inches of rain have fallen so far. Heavy
rain continues to fall in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
West Palm Beach... Jupiter... Palm Beach Gardens... Tequesta... North
County Airport... the acreage... Limestone creek... Philo farms...
Jupiter farms and caloosa.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
