The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Broward County in southeastern Florida...
northeastern Miami-Dade County in southeastern Florida...
* until 615 PM EST
* at 313 PM EST... Doppler radar continued to indicate
heavy rains across portions of the area. As much as 3 to 6 inches
of rain with local amounts in excess of 8 inches have been estimated
or observed across the area with heavy rains continuing at this time.
The area getting hit the hardest at this time is southeast Broward
County where additional rainfall amounts over the coming hour could
still exceed 3 inches. Elsewhere lighter rainfall amounts are
falling at this time but due to standing water on roadways and
the fact that it is still raining the advisory continues in
effect across the area.
In the short term there is the concern that the advisory
for portions of southeast Broward might need to be upgraded
to a warning should rains not cease. So stay tuned to the latest

small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots.
