Nowcast | as of 11:33 am EDT on September 4, 2015

Area of light rain will continue to weaken as it moves eastward into Lake County through early this afternoon. Additional light showers and sprinkles will be possible with mid to high level cloud deck north of Orlando. A moist airmass across the region will lead to increasing showers and storms over the area into the afternoon with the best chance for initial development along the coast from Cape Canaveral southward as the East Coast sea breeze forms. Any storms will move east to southeast around 10 to 15 mph and will produce dangerous cloud to ground lightning and gusty winds. Special Statement
Statement as of 1:07 PM EDT on September 04, 2015

... Significant weather advisory for northeastern Osceola and
southwestern Brevard counties until 200 PM EDT...

At 105 PM EDT... Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles northeast of Holopaw... moving south at 15 mph. Additional
strong storms are located over the Melbourne area.

Winds in excess of 45 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Palm Bay... Melbourne... Rockledge... Malabar and Camp Holly Fish Camp.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

The primary threats will be cloud to ground lightning and strong wind
gusts... which can cause unsecured objects to blow around... snap tree
limbs... cause power outages or capsize small boats. Heavy rainfall
will temporarily reduce visibility. Seek shelter indoors until the
storm passes.

Boaters should be aware that strong wind gusts sometimes occur well
away from the heavy rain and lightning associated with storms.

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm... which will reduce
visibility and may lead to temporary flooding of low lying and poor
drainage areas. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
