Nowcast | as of 5:55 PM EST on February 28, 2015

Light to moderate rain will continue across most of the region through the remainder of the evening hours. In most locations...total rainfall amounts will remain less than an additional half inch over the next few hours. An area of heavier rainfall will affect far southern Osceola... northern Okeechobee and possible southwestern Indian River counties...including the Kissimmee prairie Reserve...over the next few hours leading to rainfall amounts reaching in excess of 4-5 inches through this evening. Most of this heavier rainfall is expected to remain south of State Road 60 and west of State Road 441 and the Turnpike. Light rain will affect portions of the St. Lucie and Martin County coasts...where standing water issues from earlier flooding continue. Moderate rain may move in over far southeastern Martin County near Jupiter Island...south of where the heaviest rain fell earlier today. Any continuing roadway flooding will be slow to recede through the evening hours. Additional details...including graphics are available online at: http://www.Srh.NOAA.Gov/mlb/blog.Php
