Areal Flood Advisory, Coastal Flood Statement, Areal Flood Watch
Statement as of 10:42 PM EDT on August 03, 2015

The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Levy County in northern Florida...
northwestern Citrus County in west central Florida...

* until 1245 am EDT

* at 1041 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Williston Highlands... Inglis... Lebanon... Crystal Manor... Citronelle
and Citrus Springs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

... Minor coastal flooding likely at times of high tide through
tonight...

* coastal flooding... a moderate onshore wind flow will cause tides
to run 1 to 2 feet above astronomical values through tonight
which is expected to cause some minor coastal flooding at times
of high tide.

* Coastal flood timing... minor coastal flooding is expected to
occur during the afternoon high tide cycle... a couple of hours
either side of high tide... and possibly again during the after
midnight high tide cycle.

* Coastal flood impacts... minor coastal flooding is expected to
occur. Residents in flood prone areas should take necessary
actions to protect life and property.

1100 am EDT Mon Aug 3 2015

... Flood Watch now in effect through Tuesday evening...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of FL and west central Florida... including the
following in FL... coastal ... Citrus... coastal Hernando...
coastal Hillsborough... coastal Levy... coastal Pasco... inland
Citrus... inland Hernando... inland Hillsborough... inland Levy
and inland Pasco. In west central Florida... Pinellas.

* Through Tuesday evening

* the potential for continued excessive rainfall through today
with localized additional accumulation totals exceeding 5
inches. Rainfall is expected to be less widespread on
Tuesday... however any additional localized rainfall will renew
the areal flooding threat.

* Highly saturated soils and the potential for additional heavy
rainfall will continue the risk of widespread areal and street
flooding. If possible... clear drainage systems of any debris
which may become clogged in flooding rains.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible during the next
24 to 36 hours. Residents living in flood prone areas should take
action to protect property.
