Scattered showers and thunderstorms are developing along a line from Denton to Dallas to Waco. This activity will be capable of rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour...frequent cloud to ground lightning...and gusty winds to 35 mph as it moves east at about 20 mph. A few of these storms may become strong with wind gusts up to 50 mph...small hail and locally heavy rainfall. Soils are very saturated over the region which will result in flash flooding where heavy rain falls.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Young County in north central Texas...
Jack County in north central Texas...

* until 830 am CDT

* at 513 am CDT... the heaviest rainfall has moved out of the area...
but at least 1.7 inches of rain has already fallen. Additional
amounts of up to a quarter of an inch are possible. Flash flooding
is expected.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Graham... Jacksboro... Bryson and Newcastle.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Brazos river near South Bend.
* Until Wednesday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0430 am Saturday the stage was 18.86 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river should rise above flood stage by Saturday
morning and continue to rise to a crest near 22 feet by Saturday
afternoon. The river should fall below flood stage by Wednesday
morning.
* At 21 feet, minor flooding is expected along the River Reach.
