Statement as of 4:08 AM PST on February 28, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 4 PM this
afternoon to 4 PM PST Monday above 5000 feet...

* snow levels... falling to 5500 feet today... and 4500 to
5000 feet for Sunday and Monday with locally lower snow levels.

* Timing... periods of heavier snowfall are possible for tonight
into early Sunday... and again late Sunday night into Monday.

* Snow accumulations... less than 4 inches for 4000 to 5000 feet...
4 to 8 inches for 5000 to 6000 ft... 8 to 12 inches for 6000 to
7000 ft... with local amounts exceeding 12 inches above 7000
feet.

* Winds... areas of southwest to west winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to
40 mph.

* Visibility... reduced below one quarter at times in snow...
blowing snow... and fog.

* Impacts... residents and travelers into higher elevations in the
mountains should be prepared for hazardous winter weather
conditions and possible Road closures. If possible... carry
chains and take extra food and clothing.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon.

* Winds... southwest to west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55
mph.

* Location... strongest winds near Mountain Ridge tops and along
Desert Mountain slopes.

* Impacts... driving of high profile vehicles will be hazardous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
