Statement as of 11:56 AM CDT on April 27, 2015

The Flood Warning continues for
the Calcasieu River near Glenmora.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:45 am Monday the stage was 12.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will remain near 12.1 feet.
* Impact... at stages near 12.0 feet... when the river is rising and
the gauge reading is forecast to reach 12 feet or higher. Roads
upstream from Glenmora, including strothers crossing Road near the
community of Calcasieu and Price Crossing Road near Hineston have
water on them and are subject to being closed. Also, flooding of
forested areas near the river will occur.

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Louisiana and Texas...
including the following areas... in Louisiana... Avoyelles...
Rapides and Vernon. In Texas... Hardin... northern Jasper...
northern Newton and Tyler.

* Through this evening

* numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop
through Monday across the area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3
inches are expected with locally higher amounts of up to 6
inches possible

* areas that see heavy rainfall within a short time could
receive flood water to depths that would impact property and
people in those areas. Area creeks... streams and rivers are
also likely to experience rises.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
