Wind Advisory
Issued: 1:19 PM EST Feb. 6, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory in effect from 10 am to 8 PM EST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 10 am to 8 PM EST Sunday.

* Winds... a strengthening coastal storm will move by the coast
during Sunday resulting in north winds of 20 to 35 mph with
gusts to 40 to 45 mph. The strongest winds will occur along the
immediate coast.

* Timing... winds are expected to increase Sunday morning... then
peak during Sunday afternoon before diminishing below advisory
criteria during Sunday evening.

* Impacts... the ground is saturated from recent heavy rainfall. As
a result... poorly rooted and weak trees could easily be blown
down. Some power outages are also possible from the strong wind.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that strong winds are expected. The strong
winds can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.
