Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 7:30 AM CDT on April 25, 2015

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
central Guadalupe County in south central Texas...
southeastern Comal County in south central Texas...
eastern Medina County in south central Texas...
northwestern Atascosa County in south central Texas...
northeastern Frio County in south central Texas...
Bexar County in south central Texas...
northwestern Wilson County in south central Texas...

* until 1030 am CDT

* at 726 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated moderate to locally heavy
rains from Poteet to Universal City due to thunderstorms. This
area of rain will continue to move east at 30 mph. This may add to
some minor flooding for the next few hours. Otherwise... some
streams will continue to be running high for next few hours due to
earlier heavy rains up to 4 inches.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... San
Antonio... New Braunfels... Seguin... Universal City... Hondo...
Devine... Castroville... Schertz... Moore... Cibolo... Live Oak... Leon
Valley... Kirby... Helotes... Alamo Heights... Selma... Windcrest...
Terrell Hills... Bulverde and Garden Ridge.

Additional rainfall of up to one half inch is expected over the
area. This additional rain will make minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
