The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
central Jackson County in western North Carolina...
northeastern Macon County in western North Carolina...

* until 530 PM EDT

* at 235 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated persistent heavy rain due
to training thunderstorms. This will likely cause small stream
flooding in the advisory area.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Cullowhee
creek... Joe creek... Cat Creek... portions of the Tuckasegee River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Heavy rainfall will cause rapid rises on small creeks and streams...
possibly flooding low water crossings and farmland. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads. Turn around... dont drown.
