... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 11 PM this evening
to 10 am EST Sunday...

* locations... along the western slopes from southeast West
Virginia and the mountain Empire of Virginia... to the Grayson
Highlands of Virginia and the mountains of North Carolina.

* Hazard types... snow and blowing snow... strong gusty winds...
and very low wind chills.

* Accumulations... 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Timing... snow this afternoon and tonight. Very low wind chills
tonight through Sunday morning.

* Impacts... snow and blowing snow creating slick roads and areas
of reduced visibility. Very low wind chill values may lead to
hypothermia and frostbite.

* Winds... northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph...
starting to subside Saturday afternoon.

* Temperatures... teens to single digits.

* Wind chill readings... 5 to 15 below zero.

... Added light to moderate snow to fall this afternoon...

Another batch of light to moderate snow showers will cross the
region through mid afternoon. Another 1 to 2 inches can be
expected in spots especially across the higher elevations... with
up to an inch elsewhere. Roads may become slick at
times... especially untreated secondary roads. Use caution if
traveling... slow down and allow yourself extra time to get to your
destination.
