... Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 9 PM this evening to 1 am
EST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a coastal
Flood Advisory... which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to 1 am
EST Wednesday.

* Location... locations bordering the lower Cape Fear River from
downtown Wilmington southward.

* Coastal flooding... water levels are expected to peak around 6.3 feet
MLLW at the downtown Wilmington tide gauge. The coastal flood
threshold for the lower Cape Fear River is 5.50 feet MLLW.


* Timing... shallow flooding will occur between 7 PM and midnight
tonight... with high tide occurring around 9 PM.

* Impacts... around a foot of water will cover parts of battleship
Road and U.S.S. North Carolina Road. Water will spread out of
the storm drains onto Water Street. Water will spread onto River
Road south of the cape Boulevard. Portions of canal drive of
Carolina Beach will observe water across its roadway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will
combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
