Nowcast | as of 11:00 am EDT on May 25, 2015

Showers will move west-northwest into early afternoon... At 1100 am...Melbourne Doppler radar showed two areas of isolated to scattered showers over the Atlantic. The first was offshore Volusia County...while the second was south of Sebastian Inlet. This southern area also extend over land and across areas near and south of a line from Orlando to Palm Bay. Through early afternoon...expect the best chance for showers to push inland ahead of a weak...and fast moving East Coast sea breeze. There even could be an isolated lightning storm...mainly across Lake County...and the Orlando-Kissimmee attractions. The activity will move west-northwest at around 15 mph...and will produce some locally heavy downpours between one quarter and one half inch of rain...a little higher in a few spots. Boating and beach conditions will remain poor to hazardous into this afternoon...with lifeguards up and down the Florida east central coast reporting rough choppy surf of 3 to 4 feet...and numerous rip currents. If you venture into the water today...swim only within sight of a lifeguard...and never swim alone.
