Nowcast | as of 4:13 PM EDT on September 20, 2014

The developing low pressure system off to the northeast of Cape Canaveral this afternoon will continue to push off to the northeast through the afternoon and evening hours. The low is bringing a frontal boundary through the state this afternoon...which is currently located from around Sebastian Inlet to Sarasota. Ahead of the front...showers and a few storms will move from the southwest to northeast across Okeechobee County and the Treasure Coast before moving out into the local Atlantic through the remainder of the afternoon. A few gusty showers with winds up to 40 mph as well as occasional lightning strikes and locally heavy downpours will be possible. Further north behind the front...breezy northerly flow is wrapping moisture around the backside of the low pressure system. Scattered light showers have developed in this flow and will moving into Volusia and lake counties through late afternoon...and into the Orlando Metro through the early evening. Additional showers may also develop throughout the region in the moist and unstable flow. Additional details...including graphics are available online at: http://www.Srh.NOAA.Gov/mlb/blog.Php
