developing low pressure near Bahamas drifting north... At 430 PM...a surface low pressure trough extended from central Cuba northward into the northern Bahamas. An area of showers and a few storms over the Florida Straits and the Bahamas was affecting the space and Treasure Coast inland to Lake Okeechobee. Easterly winds around 20 mph over the Atlantic...and 15 to 20 mph and gusty over east central Florida will help push additional showers onshore along the space and Treasure coasts including Osceola and Okeechobee counties through 10 PM. A few squalls gusting to 30 to 35 mph or so...will spread slowly northward over the Treasure and space coasts...with more isolated activity farther north of Cape Canaveral and inland toward Kissimmee- Saint Cloud and Orlando. Some locally heavier downpours of nearly two inches could produce some ponding of water on roads from Brevard County southward to Indian River...Saint Lucie and Martin counties. Along the beaches and over the Atlantic...20 knot winds will keep seas generally in the 6 to 7 feet range. A building east-northeast swell will produce rough...choppy surf...numerous strong rip currents...and possibly some beach erosion around the time of tonights high tide near 1000 PM.
