Scattered showers and lightning storms are developing along the East Coast and Gulf Coast sea breezes this afternoon. Coverage of showers and storms will increase across all of South Florida through the late afternoon and evening hours as boundaries from ongoing storms interact across the region. Additional activity will also move into Glades and Palm Beach County from central Florida. Any storms today will be capable of producing torrential downpours as they drift off to the east. Frequent lightning and wind gusts to 50 mph will accompany stronger storms.
