* Timing: rain and pockets of sleet will occur early this evening then transition to freezing rain. Warmer air will change the precipitation to all rain after midnight.
* Main impact: up to two tenths of ice accumulation expected over The Highlands of Bath and Alleghany County as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway north of the James River. Elsewhere... light icing expected.
* Other impacts: little to no sleet accumulation.
* Temperatures will rise overnight changing all of the precipitation to rain by early Wednesday morning.

* Timing: this afternoon through early Wednesday evening.
* Winds: south to southeast winds increasing to 15 to 30 mph during the afternoon and evening. Winds will gradually become southwest early Wednesday then west behind a strong cold front. Wind gusts of 35 to 50 mph are likely.
* Impacts: the strongest winds will be at the highest elevations and along the downstream slopes of the ridges.
