... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST
Thursday...

* locations... Lawrence County Kentucky and portions of western
and northern West Virginia

* hazard types... snow.

* Snow accumulations... 6 to 10 inches.

* Timing... rain will change to snow by 10 PM tonight. The
snow... heavy at times... will continue through the first half of
Thursday.

* Impacts... untreated roads and sidewalks could become snow and
ice covered. Reduced visibilities... below one mile at times...
can be expected. Snow could cause downed tree limbs and power
outages.

* Temperatures... in the mid 20s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

* Flood Warning for...

southeastern Braxton County in West Virginia...
Fayette County in West Virginia...
this includes the cities of... Fayetteville... Babcock State Park...
McDowell County in West Virginia...
this includes the city of Welch...
Nicholas County in West Virginia...
this includes the cities of... Summersville... Richwood...
west central Pocahontas County in West Virginia...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
