Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 12:53 PM EST on February 28, 2015

... The Flood Advisory for street flooding in poor drainage areas
remains in effect until 130 PM EST for southeastern Broward and
northeastern Miami-Dade counties...

At 1245 PM EST... Doppler radar continued to indicate heavy rain causing street
flooding across the advisory area. Doppler radar estimates indicate 3-5 inches of
rainfall have fallen so far across much of the area with heavy rain continuing
at this time. Overflowing of poor drainage areas will continue to result in
street flooding in the advisory area. The advisory continues in effect and
will likely need to be extended later or even expanded.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Miami... Opa Locka... Miami Beach... Hallandale Beach and communities in
between or adjacent to them.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
