* locations... areas of Virginia... West Virginia... and North
Carolina from the Blue Ridge westward.

* Hazard types... strong gusty winds... and very low wind chills.

* Wind chill readings... 5 to 15 below zero.

* Timing... tonight through Sunday morning.

* Impacts... very low wind chill values may lead to hypothermia
and frostbite.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 50 or 55 mph.

* Temperatures... teens to single digits.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and

Tazewell... Summers... Greenbrier... Mercer and Monroe counties...

At 900 PM EST... a line of intense snow showers was located near
Charleston West Virginia... and moving southeast at 35 mph. This line
should reach southeast West Virginia and far western Virginia
between 10 PM and 11 PM EST this evening. Snow showers will continue
through the night. Stay tuned for any further updates.

Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this line of snow
showers.

Locations impacted include...
Bluefield...
Princeton...
Richlands...
Tazewell...
and Lewisburg.

This includes the West Virginia state Fairgrounds and Mercer County
Airport.

Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a mile in this line of
snow showers.

Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this line of
snow showers. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick
roads are likely to lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel
until the squall passes your location.
