... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... Amherst and Buckingham counties.

* Hazard types... sleet to snow.

* Accumulations... snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches..

* timing... sleet to snow early this afternoon... ending late this
evening.

* Impacts... sleet and snow will create slick roads and hazardous
travel conditions.

* Winds... northeast 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... around 30.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and sleet means severe
winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant
amounts of snow and sleet are forecast that will make travel

... Snow and sleet rapidly moving east this afternoon...

A mixture of snow and sleet... heavy at times continue to move east
across the region this afternoon. Snow rates up to 2 inches per
hour are still possible in heavier bands of snow in the east. The
back edge of the heaviest precipitation should move east of the
area by 4 PM.

Because of the periods of snow and sleet... travel difficulties
will continue this afternoon. Be prepared for slippery snow
covered roads and use caution while driving this afternoon.

... Heavy snow and sleet expected this afternoon...

A mixture of snow and sleet... heavy at times will spread east
across the region this afternoon. Snow rates up to 2 inches per
hour are possible in heavier bands. Visibility will be reduced
below one-quarter mile in heavy snow. Be prepared for slippery
snow covered roads... and use caution while driving this afternoon.
