... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 245 am EDT Monday
for northeastern Tazewell County...

At 1025 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to numerous
showers and thunderstorms across the warned area. Up to three inches
of rain have already fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bluefield...
Tazewell...
Tiptop...
and Gratton.

Flash flooding is expected on full Mill Branch... cavitts creek... Mud
Fork... Wrights Valley creek and along the Bluestone river.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

including mudslides or Road closures... to the National Weather

north central Tazewell and west central Mercer counties...

At 1019 PM EDT... Doppler radar and automated gauges indicated heavy
rain from several periods of showers and thunderstorms across the
warned area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pocahontas...
Bramwell...
Pinnacle Rock State Park...
Boissevain...
and Coaldale.

Flash flooding is expected on Laurel Fork.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* portions of Virginia and southeast West Virginia... including
the following areas... in Virginia... Alleghany VA... Bath...
Bland... Smyth... Tazewell and Wythe. In southeast West
Virginia... eastern Greenbrier... Mercer... Summers and western
Greenbrier.

* Until 6 am EDT Monday

* excessive runoff from showers and thunderstorms in areas
already saturated from recent rainfall.

* Flooding of streams... creeks... and roadways

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

hours. Motorists are urged to use caution. Be prepared for rapid
changes in visibility and allow plenty of space between vehicles.
