Nowcast | as of 1:09 PM EDT on August 20, 2014

Through 215 PM...widely separated showers and isolated thunderstorms will impact the Florida Keys...as well as nearshore and offshore waters surrounding the island chain. These showers and storms will move to the west at around 10 knots. The strongest storms will produce occasional lightning strikes...wind gusts near 25 knots...and brief...heavy rain...temporarily reducing the visibility to near two miles. Over land...the most likely area to see rainfall will be from Big Coppitt Key to Sugarloaf Key. The majority of showers and storms will be located 20 to 60 nm south of the Florida Keys.
