Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 12:58 PM EST Feb. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM EST this afternoon...

* location: western portions of the Chesapeake Bay shoreline and tidal rivers
including the Northern Neck and Middlesex County.

* Timing: minor flooding expected within a few hours either side of the
upcoming high tide cycle this afternoon.

* Impacts: inundation of water in and near low-lying coastal areas could lead
to Road closures and flooding of property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds... wave action and / or
tides will combine to create flooding of low areas along the shore... and near
tidal rivers and creeks. Be prepared for the possibility of Road closures and
minor flooding of properties. If travel is necessary... do not attempt to drive
through water of unknown depth.

All tide heights are relative to mean lower low water.
Time of the high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
Total tide combines astro tide and surge.
Flood category based on total tide.
