Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 2:22 AM EDT on August 05, 2015

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Somerset County in southeastern Maryland...
central Worcester County in southeastern Maryland...
southeastern Wicomico County in southeastern Maryland...

* until 415 am EDT

* at 220 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fruitland... Berlin... Newark... Ocean City municipality... Whiton...
Eden... Ironshire... Longridge and West Ocean City.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches can be expected through
4 am. This additional rain will lead to flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
