Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 12:58 PM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST
Wednesday...

* locations... Maryland's Eastern Shore... Delaware and southern
New Jersey

* accumulations... snow accumulation generally 2 to 4 inches.

* Timing... periods of precipitation this afternoon will be mostly
snow when it falls at a heavier rate. Snow has the potential to
fall at a moderate to heavy rate at times later this afternoon
and evening in Cecil County Maryland and northern New Castle
County Delaware. Meanwhile from Sussex and southern Kent
counties in Delaware to Cape May and Atlantic counties in
southeast New Jersey... snow should not be a travel hazard until
this evening when temperatures fall to near freezing and intermittent
precipitation changes to snow.

* Impacts... accumulating snow will affect travel through tonight
in northeast Maryland and northern Delaware... including the late
day commute and especially in Cecil County Maryland and New
Castle County Delaware. The Road conditions will likely deteriorate
during times of heavier snowfall rates later today. Remember...
bridges and other elevated surfaces tend to become slippery
first.

* Temperatures... mostly in the 30s.

* Winds... northwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

Report snow and ice accumulation to the National Weather Service
by calling our trained spotter line... posting to the NWS Mount
Holly facebook Page... or using twitter @nws_mountholly.

Snowfall and ice accumulation forecast maps in addition to
experimental probabilistic snowfall information for the latest
event are available online at www.Weather.Gov/phi/winter

Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:04 PM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST this
evening...

* location... the northeastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay.

* Coastal flooding... a renewed tidal inundation flood episode is
possible late today and this evening.

* Timing... the next high tide cycle will occur between 430 and 8
PM this evening.

* Impacts... localized roadway flooding is anticipated. Some
roads may be closed due to high water.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some Road
closures. Usually... the most vulnerable roadways will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged... leading to
costly repairs.

please go to www.Weather.Gov/phi/tides (all in lower case).
