... Wind Chill Advisory in effect from 5 PM Saturday to 11 am EST
Sunday...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Wind
Chill Advisory... which is in effect from 5 PM Saturday to 11 am
EST Sunday.

* Locations... the central mountains and Susquehanna valley.

* Hazard types... dangerous wind chills.

* Wind chills... 15 to 20 below zero.

* Timing... late Saturday through Sunday morning.

* Impacts... frostbite and hypothermia are possible if
precautions are not taken.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Temperatures... in the single digits to teens... falling to
between 5 below and 5 above zero early Sunday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If you will be outdoors... dress in layers and wear a hat and
gloves. Young children... the elderly and the homeless are
especially vulnerable to the cold. Appropriate action should be
taken to ensure pets have adequate protection from the cold
temperatures.

... Wind Advisory in effect from 4 am to 5 PM EST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 4 am to 5 PM EST Saturday.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph... with occasional gusts between
45 and 50 mph.

* Timing... strong northwest winds will develop in the wake of an
Arctic front early Saturday... and the wind will persist through
the late afternoon hours Saturday. Wind chills will vary between
zero and 10 below during the daylight hours Saturday... with
colder wind chills to follow Saturday night.

* Impacts... difficult travel in high profile vehicles. A few power
interruptions are possible from downed tree limbs and wires... along
with the potential for minor damage to siding and roof shingles
on homes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph or
gusts of 46 and 57 mph are expected.

Motorists in high profile vehicles should use caution and
consider avoiding areas exposed to strong cross-winds. Secure
loose outdoor objects that may be blown away if not stored or
tied down.
