Winter Storm Warning | |

Statement as of 11:46 AM EST on December 18, 2009 ... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 6 am EST Sunday... The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow... which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 6 am EST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect. Light to moderate snow beginning tonight is expected to persist through Saturday night. Snow may be heavy at times on Saturday morning. Snow is expected to accumulate 6 to 8 inches before ending early Sunday morning. A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Report your snowfall accumulations to the National Weather Service by calling toll free... 1-877-633-6772. |
