Issued: 4:31 AM EST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... Middlesex and New London counties in southeast
Connecticut.

* Hazard types... heavy snow and wind.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches.

* Winds... north 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 30s.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

* Timing... snow will develop close to daybreak... and may be mixed
with rain at the very onset along the coast. The heaviest snow
will fall from the morning commute into early this afternoon.

* Impacts... the combination of strong winds and a heavy wet snow
will bring down tree limbs and power lines. Hazardous travel
conditions are expected due to greatly reduced visibilities and
significant snow accumulations. Near blizzard conditions are
expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
