... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 100 PM EDT
for central Addison County...

At 1230 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess
of 60 mph. This storm was located over Weybridge... moving northeast
at 35 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Bristol... Starksboro... New Haven... Lincoln... Ripton... South
Starksboro... West Lincoln... Bread Loaf... South Lincoln and New Haven
Mills.

for northwestern Orange... southeastern Chittenden... Washington and
north central Addison counties...

At 1214 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
This storm was located over Moretown... moving east at 45 mph.

At 1157 PM EDT... public reported penny sized hail just north of
Starksboro Vermont.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Statement as of 12:20 PM EDT on August 04, 2015

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Massachusetts
Maine
New Hampshire
eastern New York
Vermont

* effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 1220 PM until
800 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
    inches in diameter possible
scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
a tornado or two possible

Summary... severe thunderstorms including multicell and some
supercell storms will continue to increase this afternoon across
eastern New York into much of New England. Severe hail and damaging
winds will be the primary concerns as storms steadily spread
eastward.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch area is approximately along and 90
statute miles north and south of a line from 15 miles north of
Albany New York to 50 miles northeast of Bangor Maine. For a

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remember... a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

do produce tornadoes.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.
