... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 am EST this
morning...

* locations... coastal downeast.

* Snow accumulations... 5 to 8 inches.

* Timing... snow will continue into Tuesday morning then taper
off to snow showers during the afternoon.

* Impacts... moderate. Snow with blowing and drifting snow will
result in travel difficulties with roads snow covered and
slippery. Visibilities reduced to less than one half of a mile
at times.

* Winds... north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.





Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 2:48 AM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until noon EST
today...

* locations... coastal Washington and Hancock counties.

* Coastal flooding... overtopping of sea water over maximum
astronomical high tide positions mostly due to large wave
runup in areas exposed to large ocean waves.

* Timing... tonight through Tuesday morning.

* Impacts... overwash is possible at the time of high tide on
Tuesday. High tide will occur around 11 am Tuesday morning.
Deposit of small rocks are possible along stretches of
affected roadways.

* Locations... possible Road impacts in coastal Hancock county:
seawall Road... and in Seal Harbor and Winter Harbor. Possible
roads in coastal Washington county: Inner Harbor... Route 192
and low lying roads along Machias Bay. Lastly... stay away from
rock jetties along Scenic ocean overlooks subject to large
wave action such as Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
