... Wind Chill Advisory in effect from 6 PM Saturday to noon EST
Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a Wind Chill
Advisory... which is in effect from 6 PM Saturday to noon EST
Sunday. The wind chill watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations... Cape Cod.

* Hazard types... dangerously cold wind chills and strong wind
gusts.

* Wind chill readings... between 10 and 25 below zero.

* Timing... the worst of the wind chills will occur Saturday
night into Sunday morning. The strongest wind gusts will occur
Saturday afternoon and evening.

* Impacts... wind chills this cold can bring on frostbite in as
little as 30 minutes! Outdoor exposure should be limited in
these conditions. Strong winds Saturday afternoon and evening
may down a few large tree limbs.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Air temperatures... temperatures Sat night into Sunday morning
will fall to 5 below to 5 above zero.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when the wind chill index is
likely to reach -15 to -24 degrees for at least 3 hours.
Frostbite can develop in just 30 minutes with a wind chill index
of -20. If you are heading outdoors... dress in layers and wear a
hat and gloves.

... 1 to 3 inches of snow expected tonight across Cape Cod and
Marthas Vineyard...

Snow will develop across Cape Cod and Marthas Vineyard between 7
and 9 PM this evening. The bulk of the accumulating snow will then
occur through 4 am Saturday morning... but some snow showers may
linger into the mid morning hours on Saturday.

Snow accumulations are expected to range from between 1 and 3
inches... but there is a low risk for up to 4 inches of snow.
Temperatures will be well below freezing... so snow will quickly
accumulate on roadways resulting in hazardous travel.
