... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM Saturday to
noon EST Sunday...

* locations... Block Island and Marthas Vineyard.

* Hazard types... dangerously cold wind chills and strong wind
gusts.

* Wind chill readings... as low as 20 below zero.

* Timing... the worst of the wind chills will occur Saturday
night into Sunday morning. The strongest wind gusts will occur
Saturday afternoon and evening.

* Impacts... wind chills this cold can bring on frostbite in as
little as 30 minutes! Outdoor exposure should be limited in
these conditions. Strong winds Saturday afternoon and evening
may down a few large tree limbs.

* Winds... northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Air temperatures... temperatures Sat night into Sunday morning
will fall to near zero.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when the wind chill index is
likely to reach -15 to -24 degrees for at least 3 hours.
Frostbite can develop in just 30 minutes with a wind chill index
of -20. If you are heading outdoors... dress in layers and wear a
hat and gloves.

... 1 to 3 inches of snow expected overnight across Cape Cod and
Marthas Vineyard...

Snow will increase in areal coverage and intensity through
midnight across Cape Cod and Marthas Vineyard. The bulk of the
accumulating snow will then occur through 4 am Saturday
morning... but some snow showers may linger into the mid morning
hours on Saturday.

Snow accumulations are expected to range from between 1 and 3
inches. The best chance of the higher amounts will be near the
Outer Cape around Chatham. Temperatures will be well below
freezing... so snow will quickly accumulate on roadways resulting
in hazardous travel.
