Special Statement
Issued: 1:45 PM EST Feb. 12, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Bands of moderate to heavy snow will continue through the
afternoon hours...

Weather...

* bands of moderate to occasionally heavy snow will sweep through
portions of southeastern Michigan during the afternoon hours.
The heaviest lead band is entering northwest Washtenaw County
and will work southeastward eventually passing through the
Detroit Metro between 2pm and 3pm.

* Widely varying snowfall is expected across the area with some
locations seeing quick accumulations around a half inch in the
   heavier bursts.

Impacts...

* reductions of visibility will impact driving conditions. There
may be rapid fluctuations of visibility down to a half mile at
   times.

* Quick bursts of snow may produce hazardous conditions on
   untreated roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* the combination of moderate snow and cold temperatures will
result in localized slippery conditions and variable traffic
rates throughout the County. Motorists are urged to use
caution and account for the variable driving conditions by
   allowing extra time.

* Prepare... plan... and stay informed.
