==Discussion==

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

An intense storm is moving across the South Coast this evening.
South to southwest winds gusting up to 90 km/h will persist for the
Howe Sound and Sunshine Coast. Winds will diminish this evening as
the low moves inland.

Winds have diminished below warning criteria over Metro Vancouver,
Greater Victoria, Fraser Valley West, and southern Gulf islands.
Gusty winds are still possible early this evening.

Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor
events. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to
break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of
damaging winds.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
Please monitor local media or weatheradio. To report severe weather,
send an email to pacificstorm(at)ec.Gc.CA or tweet reports to (hash)bcstorm.
