... Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow in effect from 9 PM
this evening to 4 PM akst Wednesday for Thompson Pass...

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for blowing snow... which is in effect from 9 PM
this evening to 4 PM akst Wednesday.

* Location... Thompson Pass.

* Wind... northeast winds 30 to 45 mph.

* Visibility... reduced to 1/2 mile or less at times.

* Timing... northeast winds will increase rapidly this evening
through Thompson Pass generating areas of blowing snow. These
conditions will continue through Wednesday afternoon.
Additionally 2 to 4 inches of new snow is expected to fall on
Wednesday which will also reduce visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that visibilities
will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow around. Use
caution when traveling... especially in open areas.
