Watches & Warnings

Blizzard Warning
Issued: 7:10 AM CST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* occasional blizzard conditions are still possible this morning.

* Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause some whiteout
conditions in blowing snow. Significant drifting will also be
seen... especially in rural and open areas.

* New snow accumulations will be less than an inch.

* Travel will be difficult in spots with slippery roads for the
remainder of the morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If
you must travel... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get
stranded... stay with your vehicle. The latest Road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
