Air Quality Alert
Statement as of 10:40 AM PDT on August 30, 2015

... Air quality alert in effect until further notice...

The Washington state department of ecology continues the air
quality alert until further notice. The Oregon department of
environmental quality continues the air quality alert for
portions of eastern Oregon until at least Monday morning.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted
conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels.

An air mass change... light rain and increasing onshore flow have
improved conditions over portions of eastern Oregon. Thus some
counties in eastern Oregon have been dropped from the alert.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes... runny nose... aggravate
heart and lung diseases... and aggravate other serious health
problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it
is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung
condition.

For additional information... please visit the web site at
http://www.Oregon.Gov/deq or http://www.Ecy.WA.Gov/air.Html or
call 360-407-6000.
