... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 5 am to 6 PM PDT
Saturday...

* winds... southwest to west 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Timing... the very windy conditions are expected to develop
Saturday morning and persist into the early evening.

* Impacts... high profile vehicles should be prepared for
possible strong cross winds... especially along Highway 97.
Winds of these magnitudes may cause loose objects to suddenly
become airborne.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high

Saturday...

A cold front is still expected to move across the Pacific
northwest this weekend. This front will produce windy conditions
Saturday. Southwest to west winds running 20 to 35 mph with gusts
around 45 mph will create areas of blowing dust reducing
visibility across portions of southeast Washington and northeast
Oregon.

Motorists are advised to use caution when driving and stay tuned
to the internet and or local TV/radio for possible updates
regarding this event.

gusty winds for fire weather zones 640... 641... 642... 643... 644...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 7 am to 7 PM PDT Saturday.

* Timing... winds will increase rapidly Saturday morning. Strongest
winds will be late morning into the afternoon.

* Wind... southwest to west 20 to 30 mph with some locations 25 to
40 mph.

* Humidity... 20 to 35 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Existing fires will likely experience significant growth. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... warm temperatures and very dry fuels can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
