Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 11:55 AM MST Feb. 14, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am MST
Monday...

* timing... snowfall will develop early afternoon and become
widespread by late this afternoon. Snowfall will continue this
evening and then gradually decrease through Monday morning.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches with the bulk of the snow
accumulation by around midnight tonight.

* Wind/visibility... west 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph.
The mountain passes and areas above timberline could see
stronger gusts to around 60 mph resulting in areas of blowing
snow. Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibilities to less
than one quarter mile at times... particularly up around
timberline.

* Impacts... persons planning travel into the Colorado high
country should be prepared for hazardous driving conditions...
slow travel... snow packed roads... and poor visibility in
spots.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving. Before heading into the high country... pack extra winter
gear in your vehicle such as gloves... hats... spare socks... a
blanket or two... a collapsible snow shovel... a sack of rock salt
or sand... an ice scraper... a flash light with extra
batteries... Snacks and water.
