Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:35 AM CST Feb. 14, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* timing... light to moderate snow will continue across central and
southeast Illinois today. The heaviest snow will occur from late
morning through mid-afternoon... before the snow tapers off from
west to east late in the day.

* Snow accumulations... 2 to 3 inches of snow will fall across
most of the area... with higher amounts of 4 to 5 inches focused
along and northwest of the Illinois River.

* Wind... southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected... with gusts
of 20 to 25 mph during the afternoon.

* Main impact... snow-covered roads will create hazardous travel
conditions. Brisk southeasterly winds will cause some blowing
and drifting snow as well.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
