... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 am Sunday morning to
6 PM CST Sunday evening...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 3 am Sunday
morning to 6 PM CST Sunday evening.

* Timing... snow developing across extreme west central Illinois
after midnight... and by dawn Sunday over east central through
southeast Illinois.

* Snow accumulations... around 3 inches over most of the area with
totals around 4 inches along and northwest of the Illinois River
by late Sunday afternoon.

* Wind... southeast at 15 to 20 mph... with gusts near 25 mph at
times.

* Main impact... hazardous travel conditions due to snow and low
visibilities... as well as blowing snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

... Bitter cold wind chills expected tonight and Saturday
morning...

The combination of breezy northwest winds and temperatures
dropping into the single digits overnight... will cause bitter cold
wind chills to develop overnight into Saturday morning over the
area. Wind chills will lower to between 10 and 17 below zero over
central Illinois after midnight tonight into mid Saturday
morning... with the coldest wind chills from I-74 north. Wind
chills will range from 5 to 10 below zero in southeast Illinois
from I-70 south later tonight into mid morning Saturday. Be sure
to bundle up and wear a hat and gloves if venturing outdoors
tonight into Saturday morning.
